HORSE RACING
Lobbying for the Appointment of a Racing Commissioner (US)

There are many cruelties connected to horse racing. This is not news.

What has not been made public, however, is the full scope and details of just how many abuses horses who give their lives to racing suffer.

We have had numerous meetings with state and federal Senators, Representatives and their staff. We have also consulted with Thoroughbred racing professionals throughout the U.S.

While those we spoke with state they support the push for an appointment of a Commissioner of Racing, the consensus generally, is to give the industry another chance to prove it can oversee itself.

Those who hold the reins of power in horse racing, despite their protests to the contrary, seem to want to continue "business as usual." That is very bad new for race horses.

The good news for race horses, though, is that there are many wonderful people in horse racing who want the cruelties exposed, and eradicated.

We are establishing partnerships with these individuals where we have a common goal to make a difference, and at long last clean up the sport of horse racing. This is not only beneficial for the horses, but also the industry itself.
